About Us

We are dedicated to preserving and improving the Havanese breed, and raising happy, healthy, and well-socialized puppies.

I stumbled into the Havanese breed in 1997 with a little puppy named Clover. We started out in 4-H and within a few years I was involved in the American Kennel Club’s Junior Showmanship competition as well as obedience, rally, and agility. When I aged out of Juniors, I showed dogs for other people for several years before being in a position in my life to show my own dogs and begin my own breeding program.

These days, I careful select the best dogs for my breeding program. Our breeding dogs have complete, breed-appropriate genetic health testing available for public review on the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals website; you can look at our Champions page and we link directly to their website. We are also a leading voice in genetic diversity testing, which is a new but exciting tool in a breeder’s toolbox.

We show and title our dogs to get peer review on our breeding program and demonstrate their correct temperaments. Everyone thinks their own dog is sweet and beautiful, so having expert judges and other breeders agree is important! Plus dog shows are big, busy places and it takes a friendly and stable temperament to thrive as a show dog.

We follow Puppy Culture and Avidog socialization protocols on our litters. Great dogs are born but also made, and we teach baby puppies that new isn’t necessarily scary, and carefully introduce typical things dogs are fearful of (like fireworks sounds) at developmentally-appropriate ages. We also help get you off on the right foot to continue your socialization and training. Yes, I give them a good start, but the rest is up to you!

I truly love Havanese and have for more than 25 years. We don’t just breed and show them, but active members of the Havanese Club of America and support this organization and its efforts to preserve and improve the breed. We are truly devoted to breeding the healthiest, happiest Havanese and finding the best homes for our puppies. One of the best parts is getting pictures and updates for years to come!

We are located in Southern Rhode Island, a couple miles off route 95. We do not ship puppies sight unseen and even if you are willing to come pick a puppy up, I do give preference to homes that are within driving distance of me. Unfortunately, there are very few responsible Havanese breeders in New England and even fewer that raise puppies to my high standard of care. As a result, we often have more wonderful homes than puppies, so you can expect a wait for just the right dog.
